About My Mentor Larry Hertz
Sadly, Larry passed away in 2009.
He could write software for anything, and he did. He wrote many small business software programs in the Ft Lauderdale area.
I met him in Hawaii. He was a retired stockbroker from California, living on his catamaran in the Ala Wai harbor in Waikiki. His sole income was from trading stocks. He had created a market timing program for trading that was run on his Texas Instruments programmable calculator. It used magnetic strips to input formulas and keystrokes. Personal computers didn't exist then.
We both moved to Ft Lauderdale to actively trade due to the time difference between New York and Hawaii. In Hawaii, your trading day begins at 3:30 AM to match the 9:30 start of the NYSE. Tough to get used to.
